I have been looking years and years for a pair of over the knee boots that would 1) fit my skinny legs and 2) not break the bank. I’ve tried so many brands and the only ones that came close to a perfect fit were the Stuart Weitzman boots. I’ve always kept an eye on them, only to watch them steadily climb in price every. single. year.
I would love a pair but meanwhile, Zara to the rescue.
I’ve worn them out shopping and they are surprisingly comfortable thanks to the block heel. According to the Zara website, the heel height is 3.3 inches/8.5 cm. The material is polyester with a suede look and the elastic hugs my tiny calves nicely. The boot has more of a rounded toe so it keeps the overall look more casual. The zipper on the inside of each leg helps keep the ankle area snug, which is a lifesaver for someone like me. However, I still recommend sizing half a size up and wearing thicker over the knee socks if your calves are on the smaller side. Not only does it fill out the boot more but the sock also helps provide grip so the boot doesn’t slide downwards as you walk. I hate feeling like I have to adjust my boots every few blocks! Uniqlo does a nice and warm OTK sock (currently on sale for $7.90 for 2 pairs! Check it out here).
My only slightly negative comment about these boots is the lack of a tie in the back. From the side, you can see the very top of boot being a little larger which is inevitable because of how the boot gets stretched when I sit or bend my knees. Keeping my fingers crossed that they won’t get too stretched out but only time will tell.
I hope this review was helpful, especially for those who are searching for more narrow OTK boots. I absolute adore them and can’t wait to work them into more outfits. For reference, I am about 5’7″.
A special thanks to the boyfriend for taking these photos for me in the freezing weather.
