It’s the day after Thanksgiving and I’m still feeling the warm glow from the recent family reunion.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the direction I want to take this blog. It’s been a bit of a struggle for me and I had been purposely neglecting it. I felt the pressure to produce content that would generate the most likes (read: white coat photos or photos of me in the hospital or some combo of the two) when really, I started this blog as a creative outlet for things that bring me joy.
And so that’s what I’ve decided to do. Every Friday I’m hoping to post a few of my favorite things. It can range from interesting medical topics to new favorite closet pieces to bloggers I’ve found, and everything in between. I haven’t really decided on any guidelines except for posting every Friday but I imagine it’ll evolve as time goes on. I’ll still include posts regarding medicine, style, and travel, but this way I can regularly share pieces of my life with you all and hopefully some tips and inspiration as well!
My favorites for this week:
- This memory card reader has been an absolute lifesaver when it comes to photos. I have the version of the MacBook Pro with only USB-C outlets and no memory card reader so this thing saves me the hassle of using extra cords or adapters (less to carry when you travel)! Just slip the memory card in, use whichever end is suited for your computer, and you’re good to go.
- My AllSaints jacket, pictured in the photos above. I purchased this during the Black Friday Sale at Woodbury Common Outlets last year for a steal and it gets worn nonstop in the fall. It’s pebbled leather so it can really withstand anything!
- An article from Nature, which showed a decreased cardiovascular risk in single-person households and lower mortality in the overall general population. As if I needed another excuse to ask for a dog? My boyfriend and I currently have two guinea pigs but wait until I tell him about this article…
- This lipstick I’m wearing from Nars. It’s the best red lipstick and flattering on everyone without fail. I’m always worried about reds making my teeth look yellow but this has blue undertones so have no fear! It’s matte enough so that there’s no gloss but it doesn’t cause that caked-on look some liquid lipsticks tend to have. I always carry it in my purse around the holidays in case anyone ever needs some color.
Whew, published this right before Friday is over! I promise the others won’t be as late 😉 Excited to start these!
